Ernest William Haslehust was famous for his illustrations in a popular series of early 20th Century travel books. Each volume was dedicated to a region or city in Britain and contained 12 colour plates produced from the artist’s original watercolours. Haslehust enjoyed painting in the South West and was a member of The Royal West of England Academy. This colourful scene at Noss Mayo is one of several watercolours Haslehust painted of the River Yealm in South Devon.
