Cecil is well known for his evocative paintings of shoreline subjects and architectural themes. He has a particular passion for Italy, especially Venice, and travel has been an important inspiration for much of his work, which also includes scenes of Granada, Marrakesh, India and Amsterdam. The play of light and the movement of water are captured beautifully, and Cecil’s paintings are keenly collected at home and internationally. He has exhibited regularly since 1996 and has published a book featuring many of his wonderful Venetian scenes.
