This celebrated painter of landscapes and rural genre scenes was born at Gravesend in Kent. He was tutored at Leicester School of Art by Wilmot Pilsbury, a specialist in cottage garden scenes and landscapes. Adams painted in oils and watercolours and, between 1881 and 1919, exhibited at The Royal Academy, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Society of British Artists and other principal galleries throughout Britain.
